Kleus takes the book, video, podcast or topic you want to understand, builds a learning path through it, teaches one lesson a day in WhatsApp or Telegram, and checks what you took from each one. Miss a day and the path bends instead of resetting. The questions below are the ones people actually ask before they start.
Can I bring my own book, video or podcast?
Yes. Upload a book or document (PDF, EPUB, MOBI, AZW3, Markdown or plain text), or paste a YouTube link or an Apple Podcasts episode up to about three hours. Kleus reads the whole thing, builds a learning path through it, and teaches each lesson from the source's own passages.
Does Kleus teach?
Yes. Each lesson explains one idea from your material in plain language, stops to ask what you think happens next before it tells you, and ends with a few questions you answer in your own words. The check on those answers is what decides what comes back later.
How does grading work?
Each lesson ends with a short check on what you wrote. Kleus scores it out of 100 and, question by question, names what landed and what was missing, quoting your own answer back. Below 50 it also spells out the answer. Nothing about you, only about the work. Anything missing returns in a later lesson.
What can I learn with Kleus?
Anything you can bring or name: a history lecture you saved, a textbook you never got through, a paper your work depends on, or a topic like Python, statistics or negotiation. The one rule is that progress has to be provable in text, which is why there is no music or tasting on the shelf.
How is this different from ChatGPT?
ChatGPT answers what you ask and forgets you. Kleus reads your material once, decides what you learn today, teaches it, checks what stuck, and comes back tomorrow with the next lesson built from that. Use ChatGPT when you are stuck on a concept; use Kleus to actually get through the thing.
What happens if I miss a day?
Nothing dramatic. No broken streak, no starting over. The day is logged without a lecture, and the week reshuffles around your life so the chapter still gets done.
What happens if I go quiet?
Kleus checks in on your chat. You set how firm that gets, from a gentle nudge to drill sergeant, and you can change it whenever you like.
How much does Kleus cost?
Two plans. The Coach is £24 a month: your own books, videos, podcasts or topics, one lesson a day with a check, 5 new learning paths a month. The Master is £48 a month with 15 paths, 10 revisions and double the daily chat. There is no free tier, and one real lesson is free with no account.
Which messaging apps does it work with?
WhatsApp and Telegram, plus the web app, where your path, your lessons and every message live in one place. Email mirrors the daily lesson.
Is there a free trial?
You can do one real lesson free, with its check, no account. A learning path from your own material needs a subscription.
Will Kleus shame me for falling behind?
No. It does not moralize. A missed day is logged without commentary; a weak check just brings the idea back in a later lesson. The pressure is structural, not personal.
Is Kleus the same as Cleus.ai or Kleo?
No. Kleus (kleus.ai) is an AI accountability coach for self-directed learning, launched in August 2026 and run by its founder, Yanis. Kleus is not related to Cleus.ai, Kleo, Klue or Klu.ai. You can verify what it does without an account: one real lesson is free.
