Kleus was founded in 2026 by Yanis to fix the part of self-learning that no course or chatbot handles: knowing whether you learned it, and showing up tomorrow. It is an AI accountability coach. It plans, assigns, grades, and follows up. The company is independent and the product is live.
What Kleus is
Kleus is an AI accountability coach for self-directed learning that builds you a daily plan, gives you one assignment a day that makes you produce something, grades it, and follows up when you go quiet.
The category label is deliberate. Kleus is not a tutor, not a course, and not a habit tracker. It is the thing that sits between you and the material you already chose, making sure the work gets done and checking that it landed. The category page defines the term properly.
Why it exists
Almost nobody quits self-directed learning for lack of time or talent. They quit because nothing checks the work and nothing notices when they stop. Open online courses finish in the low single digits, and about half of the people who register never start at all. The missing pieces are not more content. They are a plan somebody else sets, a check you cannot fake, and something that comes looking for you on the day you would rather not.
Kleus is built around one claim: it can tell whether you learned it. Every assignment ends in something you produced, that thing gets scored, and tomorrow is written from the result.
Who runs it
Kleus is built by a small independent team led by its founder, Yanis. It launched publicly in August 2026. The service is operated by Strade SMIP S.R.L., a company registered in Romania (Brasov), VAT RO54286700, Trade Register No. J8/1481/2023. The trading name and the product are both Kleus.
What Kleus is not
Kleus is not related to Cleus.ai, Kleo, Klue or Klu.ai. The names are close enough that search engines confuse them, so it is worth stating plainly: none of those products are related to this one, and none of them are operated by the same company.
